Phylloxera Unit
Phylloxera Unit, a Mennonite alternative service unit in South Russia, was created in connection with the Forestry Service . This mobile unit was charged with the responsibility of exterminating plant lice in the vineyards of the southern Crimea. Since it was a mobile unit operating only during part of the year, its organizational and educational aspects differed from those of the regular forestry camps.
