Pontanus, Isaac (ca. 1625-1710)
Isaac Pontanus (ca. 1625-1710), a Remonstrant minister at Friedrichstadt, Bridle, and Amsterdam, and after 1666 professor in the Remonstrant seminary, was the author of Tractaet van de sichtbare Kerke Christi op aerden (Amsterdam, 1660), in which he opposes the spiritualistic views of Galenus Abrahamsz. The treatise is followed by an Aensprake (address) tot de Vereenigde Duitsche, Friesche en Waterlandsche Gemeenten and by Van de Vrijheidt van spreeken in de Gemeente der Geloovigen tegen Laurentius Klinkhamer.
