Portage County (Ohio, USA)
Portage County, Ohio, south of Cleveland, was formed from Trumbull County in 1807. It is so named from the old Indian portage path seven miles long between the Cuyahoga and Tuscarawas rivers. It is the home of the flourishing Plainview Mennonite Church located between Kent and Aurora.
