Hermann Regewart (Regenwort), a Catholic priest of Warendorf in Westphalia, Germany, who was converted by the Anabaptist elder Hendrik van Maeren  and joined the Anabaptists in early 1534. On 17 February of this year Regewart and some 30 other Anabaptists, all converted by van Maeren, accompanied him to Münster. Here Regewart became a follower of Jan van Leyden, who sent him with seven others to Coesfeld, Westphalia, as an emissary of his policy. Upon arrival at Coesfeld they were all arrested; Regewart was executed there in January 1535.
