Roelant Staeyert (d. 1569)
Roelan(d)t Staey(a)ert was an Anabaptist martyr executed at Ghent, Belgium, in 1569. Particulars about this martyr are lacking. Verheyden did not find his name in the official records. His name is commemorated in a hymn in the Offer des Heeren (edition of 1578), beginning "Alsmen schreef duyst vyfhondert jaer, ende twee en tsestich mede." Roelant is listed as No. 30 in this hymn.
