Skalitz (Jihomoravský kraj, Czech Republic)
Skalitz (Gallitz; Slovak, Scalica), a village located between Hosterlitz and Stiegnitz (Trstenice) in Moravský Krumlov (German, Mährisch-Kromau), was the seat of two Hutterite Bruderhofs in the 16th century, the first founded in 1563. They were among the "upper households." In 1592 one of the Bruderhofs was abandoned, presumably because of heavy taxation. In 1605 much burning, murdering, and robbing was done in the remaining Bruderhof by the Bocskay troops.
