Spruce Mountain Mennonite (Mennonite Church) outpost, located in Pendleton County, on the eastern slope of the Allegheny Mountain six miles southwest of Onego, West Virginia. R. H. Benner (MC) responded to a call to preach here in the 1920's. Summer Bible schools and revival meetings were introduced in the 1930's. Since then the membership has declined; the young people have moved out. Only a few small families remain. Services are still held twice a month in a schoolhouse. The membership in 1958 was 5, with Earl J. Hartzler serving as pastor, under the Virginia Mennonite (MC) Conference.
