Voort, van der, family
Van der Voort (van Voort), a former Mennonite family at Utrecht, Netherlands; Jan van der Voort, who was ordained as a preacher or elder of the Utrecht Mennonite congregation in 1606, is thought to be identical with Jan van Voordt, who was baptized at Utrecht in 1561 by Dirk Philips. In 1618 he was still serving, in this year buying a house in the Jufferstraat (later called Springweg), which was remodeled into a meetingĀ house.
