Wätzenobis (Jihočeský kraj, Czech Republic)
Wätzenobis (Slovak, Vacenovice), a village in Moravia, lying between Gaya and Bisentz, on land of the Zerotin family, where a Hutterite Brüderhof was located from at least as early as 1571 (first mentioned in the Chronik) to 1622. The Bruderhof was plundered and burned down in 1605 by marauding troops who killed four brethren; later in the same year the manager was killed. At this time Wätzenobis was a part of the possessions of General Wallenstein, who in 1615 put the manager in prison. On 21 September 1619 the Bruderhof was plundered by Dampierre's troops, 7 February 1620, by Polish troops, and in 1621, after being rebuilt, plundered again by imperial troops.
