Willem Huyberts (d. 1573)
Willem Huyberts (Hubrechts), an Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake on 21 February 1573 at Antwerp, Belgium, together with Lynken Ghyselleers and Lysken Pennaerts. Willem, apparently a young man, was not yet a member of the church; during his trial he confessed that he was not yet (re) baptized, but was eager to receive baptism. The authorities, assisted by the clergy, sought fanatically "to convert him," but in vain. Willem remained steadfast.
