Baeck, Ghijsbrecht van (16th century)Ghijsbrecht (Gijsbrecht) van Baeck, governor (Drost) of IJsselstein and Benschop, had the Reformed Hendrik Rol in his service as family chaplain (ca. 1530). Because Baeck was evidently favorable to the Reformation, and his wife Elsa van Lostadt later openly became an Anabaptist, the Anabaptist movement could develop for a time in his territory.
