Balen Jansz, Matthijs van (b. 1611)Matthijs van Baien Jansz, b. 1 October 1611, was a member of the Dordrecht Mennonite congregation. He wrote Beschrijvinge der Stadt Dordrecht (Descriptions of the City of Dordrecht), printed in 1677, which is considered a model of contemporary local historiography.
