Gäde, Gerhard J. (20th century)Gerhard J. Gäde (Gaede), b. in the Molotschna settlement, Russia, attended the Gnadenfeld Zentralschule, taught at Lichtfelde, Molotschna, and later at the Davlekanovo Zentralschule, Ufa. In 1911-1915 he taught at the Omsk Zentralschule, Siberia. In 1925 he attended the Mennonite General Conference (Bundeskonferenz) in Moscow. He was a very gifted educator with artistic inclinations and a severe critic of the weaknesses in Mennonite culture and practice. BibliographyTöws, Aron A.
