Hamilton Mennonite Church (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada)

The congregation began services in 1952, and formally organized in 1956. The first building was occupied in 1954 with a new building in 1965. A subsequent building program followed in 1991. Gerhard Peters is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through urbanization from rural Ontario in 1952 and earlier outreach by the Conference of Mennonites in Canada. The language transition from German to English occurred in the 1950s.
