Mountainview Mennonite Church (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)

The Mountainview Mennonite congregation in Vancouver began services in 1952, and formally organized in 1956. The first building was occupied in 1955. Henry H. Neufeld is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by the Conference of Mennonites in Canada, and church planting by First United Mennonite in Vancouver.

Mountainview was known as the Vancouver Mennonite Mission prior to 1972. It arose primarily out of the need for an English-language congregation. Mountainview initiated the first Chinese Mennonite congregation in Vancouver under the leadership of Stephen Lee.

In 1965 there were 160 members; in 1975, 148; in 1985, 139; in 1995, 90. The congregation closed its doors and dispersed to other congregations in 1996. It had been affiliated with the Conference of Mennonites in British Columbia, Conference of Mennonites in Canada (1957-1996) and General Conference Mennonite Church (1959-1996). The language of worship was English.

The church was located at 4722 Fraser St. in East Vancouver. Minister Les Klassen served in 1995 as a congregational leader.
