Oldemarkt (Overijssel, Netherlands)

Oldemarkt, a village in the Dutch province Overijssel. Leenaert Bouwens baptized seven persons here in 1563-1565. Later there was here a small congregation of the Danzig Old Flemish, as there was likewise in Blokzijl, Zuidveen, and Giethoorn, all of which maintained relations with the Flemish congregation at Danzig, Prussia. Roelof Agge Joncker was preacher of the Oldemarkt congregation 1699-1712; his father and grandfather had served in the same office. The Oldemarkt congregation had died out by 1744.
