Oosterhout, a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. The Mennonites living here joined with those of Geertruidenberg and Breda in the 17th century to form the congregation of Brabant. Jan Jansz van de Langerijt and Augustijn Gerritsz Hulstmans as delegates of this congregation in 1664 signed the "Oprecht Verbondt van Eenigheydt," which brought about the union of the conservative Mennonites in the Netherlands, later called the Zonsche Sociëteit (Zonist Conference). Of the Mennonites of Oosterhout there is no further information. The congregation of Brabant apparently had died out before 1700.
