Schouwenburg, van, family nameSchouwenburg, van, a prominent Dutch Mennonite family, originally of Harlingen in Friesland, where they were owners of brickyards and tileworks from the early 18th century or before. Some of its members were deacons at Harlingen and later at Zaandam, where a branch of the Schouwenburgs lived from the 19th century. A side branch is the Menalda van Schouwenburg family.
