Wiebe, Gerhard (1725-1796)Gerhard Wiebe, minister and elder: b. 28 August 1725 in Prussia, the son of Isbrand and Agatha Wiebe. Gerhard married Maria Wiebe (b. 15 June 1730, Freienhuben bei Steegen, Prussia — d. 15 April 1794, Ellerwald, Prussia), daughter of Arendt Wiebe (ca. 1693-1775) and Maria (Dieck) Wiebe (ca. 1697-1759), around 1760. They had at least four children. Gerhard d. 26 November 1796 in Ellerwald Trift 1, Prussia. Gerhard was ordained as elder of the Elbing-Ellerwald Mennonite Church on 11 January 1778 and served until his death in 1796.
