Cornelis Jan Oliviers Appelman (d. 1545)

Cornelis Jan Oliviers Appelman, originally of Leiden, Dutch province of South Holland, was an Anabaptist leader who, after the death of Jan van Batenburg in 1538, led the revolutionary activity of the Münsterites. He was very active, especially in the eastern provinces of the Netherlands and brought much loss upon the peaceful and defenseless Mennonites. Appelman was taken prisoner in May 1544 and burned at the stake at Utrecht on 7 February 1545.
