Dienstjarenfonds, a Mennonite fund in the Netherlands was founded in 1912 in an effort to raise the salaries of the preachers which were considered too low, by granting a supplementary sum to those ministers who had served for ten years or more, and whose salaries were beneath a certain level. In 1917 the first payments to the ministers were made. In 1949 the Dienstjarenfonds was taken over by the Algemene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit. After that the contributions were increased and given to all ministers with ten or more years' service, the payment no longer limited by the income of the minister.
