Fokke Dijkema, b. 1877 at Leeuwarden, d. in 1944, at Amsterdam, was a Dutch Mennonite pastor serving the congregations of Winschoten, 1901-1905, Hilversum, 1905-1907, Rotterdam, 1907-1916, and Amsterdam, 1916-1942. His special field of study was the Old Testament and Hebrew; he published a few scholarly papers on Hebrew linguistic problems and Old Testament subjects in Teyler's Theologisch Tijdschrift. He was also a member of the board of the Dutch Bible Society and worked on the new Dutch version of the Bible. For a number of years he was a member of the board of the Algemene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit (General Dutch Mennonite Conference). But his interest went out beyond the Mennonite brotherhood and he was a member of a large number of religious and charitable associations. For some time he was also a member of the board of the General (Dutch) Committee of Liberal Christianity; Dijkema was an adherent of liberal theology. He published many articles in the Mennonite weekly De Zondagsbode and a number of booklets including Het Avondmaal (Rotterdam, n.d., 1908), De Ongeloovigen (Amsterdam, n.d.), Buitentkerklijke Stroomingen (Amsterdam, n.d., 1933), and a historical study, De Doopsgezinden in Amsterdam: 1530-1930 (n.p., n.d.).
