Emmanuel Mennonite Church (McPherson County, Kansas, USA)

Emmanuel Mennonite Church (General Conference Mennonite), until 1931 known as the Canton Church, located six miles north and one-half west of Moundridge, McPherson County, Kansas, a member of the Western District Conference, was organized in 1875 by Mennonites from Poland.

The Christian Endeavor Society was organized on 8 May 1908. The women’s mission society was organized in 1941. A new church was dedicated on 14 June 1942. The membership in 1955 was 87, with Garman H. Wedel serving as their pastor. Emmanuel withdrew from the General Conference Mennonite Church in 1978.
