Friesen, David (19th century)David Friesen, the leader or Oberschulze of the Molotschna settlement, Ukraine, South Russia, in 1848-1865, the time of the struggle of the landless Mennonites of the settlement for recognition of their demands and for acquisition of land. Through their organization (see Landlosen-Kommission) and the support of the government they finally achieved their aim.
