Goes, Antoni Jansen van der (17th century)

Antoni Jansen van der Goes, and his wife Magdalena Steenaerts lived in the Dutch town of Goes, province of Zeeland, until about 1651. Then they migrated to Amsterdam. Antoni Jansen was a poet of devotional hymns and moralizing poems of rather mediocre quality. A volume entitled Zederymen, bestaande in Zangen en Gedigten, Verciert met Nieuwe Muzyk door S. Lefevre was published (Amsterdam, 1656). Both Antoni and his wife were members of the Mennonite Church. Their son was Johannes Antonides.
