Ittlingen, is a village (1955 population 1,307 with 31 Mennonites in the 1950s; 2006 pop ca. 2,500) ) in the Sinsheim district of Baden, Germany. The first Mennonites, refugees from Switzerland, settled here in 1655. In the 19th century the village was the seat of a Mennonite church, whose members came from the Bockschaft and Streichenberg congregations. In 1841 Christian Hege placed his newly built house in Ittlingen at their disposal for services. In Bockschaft and Streichenberg services continued to be held alternately for two years longer. For many years Ulrich Hege (d. 1896) of Reihen, founder of the Gemeindeblatt der Mennoniten, served as their elder. In 1913 the congregation merged with that at Immelhausen, with their seat at Sins­heim.
