Lenart van Ysenbroeck (16th century)Lenart van Ysenbroeck (Lenhart van Yzenbroek, Eschenbroich, Eyssenbrouk), also called Leonhard van Tongeren and Leonhard van Maastricht, was an Anabaptist elder whose activity can be traced in a number of towns in what is now the Dutch province of Limburg (Born, Dieteren, Maastricht, Sittard), beginning in 1535. He baptized the martyrs Mente Heynen and Jater. He was still active in the Dutch Limburg area in 1561; his meetings were attended by people from near and far; sometimes 200 or 300 persons are said to have been present. Rembert considers him to be identical with Leonhard Falber. For particulars see the article Falber. BibliographyDoopsgezinde Bijdragen (1909): 117 f ; (1917): 119, No. 106. Bax, Willem.
