Mennonite Aid, Inc., Goshen, Indiana, provides hospital-surgical and burial aid. As of 31 December 1958, the hospital-surgical membership included 29,388 adults and children and the burial aid plan 3,336 adults and children. During that year over $592,000 had been paid for hospital-surgical claims and $3,000 for burial aid claims. For 1958 the hospital-surgical assessment per person was $42.50 and per family was twice this amount, including all children up to the age of 18. Burial aid benefits were $750 per adult and $150 per child.   During the last half of 1958, the organization paid 79.7 per cent of its members' total hospital charges and 61.3 per cent of their surgical expenses. Although it serves principally members of the Mennonite Church (MC), all branches of Mennonites in the United States are eligible for membership.
