Plantenga, Broer Pieter (1865-1929)
Broer Pieter Plantenga, born 15 December 1865 at Zutphen, died 28 May 1929 at Haarlem, a Dutch Mennonite pastor serving at Meppel 1893-98, Wormerveer 1898-99, Arnhem 1899-1901, and Haarlem 1901-27. In 1927 he resigned because of his health. Among his many offices in the Dutch brotherhood should be mentioned his membership (secretary) on the committee for the Mennonites in the Diaspora (see Verstrooiing) and on the board of curators of the Mennonite seminary. He also served for a number of years as a trustee of the Dutch (liberal) Protestant Union. BibliographyDoopsgezind Jaarboekje (1930): 21-26.
