Steinbach Post, Steinbach, Manitoba, an 8-page 15 x 32 in. (before 1947, 12 x 18 in.) weekly, published ev­ery Tuesday by Derksen Printers Ltd., was started in 1913 by Jacob S. Friesen. In 1924 Arnold (A. B.) Dyck became publisher and editor of the paper. In 1936 G. S. Derksen purchased the paper and became its editor. The Post contains world news as well as news from the Mennonite settlements of Manitoba and other provinces, and is read by Mennonites of Canada, Mexico, and Paraguay. The paper claims to be "the oldest Mennonite weekly founded in Canada." After the death of G. S. Derksen (1957), Jacob H. Block became the editor.
