Vinne, Dionysius (d. 1534)Dionysius Vinne, one of the Wassenberg preachers, born at Diest in Brabant, was won to Lutheranism by 1523 in Antwerp, later betook himself to Jülich. With brief interruptions he zealously preached the new doctrine in Wassenberg, Hongen, and especially Süstern. On 17 September 1532, he went to Münster in Westphalia, was baptized there on 5 January 1534, and appointed to the office of apostle. On 13 October 1534, he was sent as an apostle to Osnabrück, where he was immediately arrested. Vinne and four other apostles were executed at Iburg, one died in prison, and one, i.e., Graess, was pardoned. BibliographyBax, W. Het Protestantisms in het Bisdom Luik I.
