Laurel Dee Gugler is a children's book author whose latest title, A Piece of Forever is a Junior-Grade novel which features ten-year-old, Rose (from a Mennonite family) who struggles to determine whether she shares her family's conscientious objector stance. This title invites children to consider the possibility of looking at conflicts and their solutions in terms other than war. Laurel grew up in the Newton, Kansas, Mennonite community and attended Bethel College (She was known then as DeLores Goering).
