Église Chrétienne Évangelique de Ste-Rose began services and formally organized in 1978. The congregation originated through outreach by Église des Frères Mennonites de Ste-Thérèse. The language of worship is French.

In the early 1970s L'Église des Frères Mennonites de Ste-Thérèse was having an impact with some of the young people in St. Rose/Laval. In October 1976 some of these new believers began a Bible study group in the Institut Biblique Laval (Laval Bible Institute, now known as École de Théologie Évangélique de Montréal) located at 85 Je me Souviens, Ste. Rose/Laval, Québec. On 10 December 1977, the Ste-Thérèse church requested that the 12 newly baptized believers meet and organize the Ste-Rose Church. This group of new believers started a regular church program on the second Sunday in January 1978.

The pastor at that time was Ernest Dyck, the assistant pastor responsible for outreach and visitation was Jean-Victor Brosseau. In two and a half years, the Sunday morning attendance was at 45–65 people and the mid-week Bible study and prayer meeting had about 30–45 people. The Ste-Rose Church has distributed over 10,000 Gospel messages throughout the city.
