Aechtken Joris Adriaensdochter (called simply Aechtken in the Martyrs Mirror),  an Anabaptist martyr, of Zierikzee in the Dutch province of Zeeland (she is therefore also called Aechtgen van Zierikzee, or Sirckzee), was drowned together with five other women martyrs at the Steen prison at Antwerp on 19 July 1559. On 20 May of this year the women had been apprehended by the margrave of Antwerp. Aechtken confessed her faith willingly and freely, and therefore was brutally drowned during the night. Aechtken and the other women martyrs are found in two old martyr-songs: in"Een Liedeken van ses vrouwen," beginning "Babels Raets Mandamenten," in which her name is not expressly named, and also in the song "Aenhoort Godt hemelsche Vader" (Een liedeken van 72 vrienden, te Antwerpen gedood tusschen 1555 en 1560). Both songs are in the Liedtboecxken van den Offer des Heeren, 1563; they are no. 16 and no. 19 respectively.
