Altona Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Altona, Manitoba, Canada)
The Altona Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation in Altona, Manitoba, Canada was established as an outreach of the congregation at Rosenort. Summer evangelistic meetings were held in Plum Coulee and Altona from 1992 to 1995. During this time a worshipping group rented a church in Plum Coulee for about two years, with leadership provided by the Rosenort congregation.
In fall 1994 the group began to rent the senior center in Altona rather than Plum Coulee. The congregational formally organized in March 1996 with 10 members. A school was launched the same year in the workshop of Robert Goossen.
In 1997 a property in the village of Neubergthal was purchased and remodeled into a church and school.
In 2019 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The ministers were Robert Goossen, Don Penner, and Cam Barkman.
The church also supports the Sunflower Valley Christian School.
