The Annapolis Valley [[Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (CGC)|Church of God in Christ, Mennonite]] congregation in Grafton, Nova Scotia, [[Canada]] began as a mission outreach from individuals in the [[Northumberland Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Canada)|Northumberland]] congregation. In summer 1989 Missions Canada placed the Ron Wohlgemuth family from Ste. Anne, [[Manitoba (Canada)|Manitoba]] in the Port Williams area. Freida Reimer served as their schoolteacher. In summer 1990 five families moved to the area.
  
The congregation began services prior to 1991. Paul Bartel is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through migration from [[Manitoba (Canada)|Manitoba]].

In late 1991 and early 1992 properties were purchased in the Berwick area, and then the Berwick Community Hall was rented.
