Abraham A. Braun, son of Abraham Braun, Grossweide, a respected member of the [[Gnadenfeld Mennonite Church (Gnadenfeld, Molotschna Mennonite settlement, Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukraine)|Gnadenfeld Mennonite]] congregation, South [[Russia|Russia]], was one of a group of Wüst brethren which included August Lehman, the elder of this congregation in Gnadenfeld, Andreas Flaming of Schardau, and Heinrich Schmidt of Pastwa, preachers of the congregation; in his later years Braun was a <em>Felsentaler Freund.</em> Braun's father had the courage to admit Abr. Cornelsen into his home, who had been expelled in midwinter from the Elisabeththal school and who was living in the [[Nogai People|Nogai]] steppes in a freshly built, damp sod hut. Abraham A.
