East Ridge Community Fellowship held its first public service on 26 May 1996 and formally organized on 20 October 1996 with 32 charter members. Harry Loewen is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated from outreach by the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Board of Church Extension, and joined that conference in 1997.

From 1996 to 2000 the congregation met for worship at the Thomas Haney Centre in east Maple Ridge. The congregation later met at Alexander Robinson Hall at the corner of Dewendy and 240th Street and Fraserview Village Centre, located at 22610 116th Avenue in Maple Ridge before moving to its present location at the Harry Hooge Elementary School on 230th Street.

In 2010 the average weekly attendance was 60. The congregation closed on 10 March 2013.
