Eelke (Fouckensz, Foekes), an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, a preacher though he was not yet baptized, was captured with a fellow believer named Fye at Boorn ([[Oldeboorn (Friesland, Netherlands)|Oldeboorn]] in the Dutch province of [[Friesland (Netherlands)|Friesland]]) and beheaded at [[Leeuwarden (Friesland, Netherlands)|Leeuwarden]] in 1549 three weeks before Easter.
