Garden Valley Community Church (Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada)
Garden Valley Community Church began in the summer of 1995 and held their first official service on 1 October 1995. The congregation formally organized on 28 January 1996 and joined the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in May 1996. At their charter service they received 44 new members in total, 8 by baptism, 24 by transfer and 12 by confession of faith. The congregation originated from outreach by Willow Park Church and the British Columbia (BC) Conference of Mennonite Brethren (MB) Churches. The initial pastor was Geoff Neufeld, who served the church from 1995 until 2002. The church experienced significant growth in its first year and a half, reporting 23 conversions and an average attendance of 200. In 2001 the congregation assisted in the planting of Orchard Valley Church in Winfield, BC.
At the May 2007 BC MB Conference convention, it was reported to delegates that the Garden Valley congregation had elected not to continue meeting as a church within the past year.
