Gateway Community Church emerged as a result of weekly Bible studies started in October of 2005 and through the support of the [[British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches|British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches]], which it joined on 29 April 2006. Their first service was held on Christmas Eve, 2005.  Paul Wicki was the pastor of the church from its inception until 30 April 2014. Zachary Hillman became senior pastor in August 2015.

Gateway Community Church emerged as a result of weekly Bible studies started in October of 2005 and through the support of the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, which it joined on 29 April 2006.
