Gospel Mission Church (Carrot River, Saskatchewan, Canada)
The Carrot River Gospel Mission had its beginnings in the late 1930s under the Canadian Sunday School Mission. It began services in 1944, and formally organized in 1957 as a member of the Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, when it became known as Carrot River MB Gospel Mission. The first building was occupied in 1958. Victor Nickel is considered the founding leader of the group.
On 9 March 2003 the church building was damaged extensively due to a water line break, resulting in the eventual demolition of the building later that year. Eventually the church began meeting at Pioneer Place on Main Street in Carrot River.
The congregation officially changed its name to Gospel Mission Church in 2010. At that time the congregation was composed of people from many different denominational backgrounds.
