Grevinckhoven, Caspar (1550-1606)

Caspar Grevinckhoven (1550-1606), b. at Dortmund, Germany, a Reformed preacher at Zaltbommel, Dutch province of Gelderland, in 1573, after 1579 in Rotterdam, where he died. He wrote a violent polemic against the Anabaptists: Grondelijke bericht van den Doop ende Wederdoope (1599), which contains some important information on Hans de Ries. The assertion that in his old age he became a Mennonite (as stated in Doopsgezinde Bijdragen 1908, 27) is an error.
