Högerli (Hägerly), an Anabaptist martyr, was arrested in 1532 in Aarau with a fellow believer called "the tailor," was kept in prison 13 days and then taken to Bern, where he was executed for his faith. The Martyrs' Mirror on page 1129 erroneously gives 1529 as the date of his death, and calls him Haegerley of the Alburg district. His name Högerli is that of a farm near Aarburg, which was favorably located for Anabaptist meetings.
