Reimer Hansen (1853-1926), professor at the Oberrealschule in[[Oldesloe (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany)| Oldesloe]], Germany. Of simple rural origins, the gifted youth acquired a thorough edu­cation by study at the University of[[Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany)| Kiel]] as well as by private study. His particular field was his­tory. Later he became famed for his research in the history of [[Schleswig-Holstein (Germany)|Schleswig-Holstein]], and especially of his home Dithmarschen. For Mennonite history two of his articles, written with objective scholar­ship, are of significance: "Wiedertäufer in Eiderstedt" (until 1616) in the <em>Schriften des Vereins für schleswig-holsteinische Kirchengeschichte</em>, series II, vol. 2; "Menno Simonis in Holstein" in <em>Die Heimat</em>, 1907. For the <em>Mennonitisches Lexicon </em>he wrote an article on the Danish Prince Frederick.
