North Battleford Mennonite Church began informally in the early 1950s when a group of young Mennonite women who were training as psychiatric nurses at the Saskatchewan Hospital began meeting together. The congregation formally organized in 1959. The first building was occupied in 1954.

The congregation changed its name to Hope Mennonite Fellowship in 1986.

Hope Mennonite Fellowship withdrew its membership from Mennonite Church Saskatchewan effective 30 April 2016. The same-sex marriage issue within Mennonite Church Saskatchewan was deemed to be indicative of a more serious underlying theological rift.
