Hans Huber, a saddle maker of Strasbourg, was one of the first members of the Anabaptist group at that place. He was baptized by Jakob Gross. Because of his Anabaptist faith he was imprisoned at Lahr and then expelled from the city. At his trial in Strasbourg in 1527 he presented his views on the ban: Christians who do not live in accord with Christ's command should be expelled from the brotherhood, because one should not have fellowship with them.
