In 1911 Michael Waldner was chosen to the ministry. In 1918 the Bruderhof sold its property and migrated to Canada, founding the Huron Bruderhof in Manitoba.
In 1936 a new colony by the same name was founded as a re-formation of the abandoned colony site by part of a group from the Roseisle Hutterite Colony. The current Huron Hutterite Colony was founded in 1945 as a division from the Jamesville Hutterite Colony Jamesville Hutterite Colony (Utica, South Dakota, USA).
In 2017 the Huron Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
