Jacques (Jacob) Semou, perhaps identical with Jan de Schaper, an Anabaptist martyr, born at Bethune, French Flanders, a weaver, 38 years of age, living at Borgerhout near Antwerp. He had been (re) baptized at Ghent about 1558 by Joachim Vermeeren, and was arrested while attending a meeting in the house of Jan Poote at Antwerp in February 1569.
