Janson, Jean (1823-1896)

Jean Janson, grandson of Abraham Janson, was a farmer in Harxheim, and was for nearly 25 years a member of the Palatine legislature at Speyer and 1881-86 a delegate to the Reichstag. His service to the cause of agriculture was recognized by Bismarck in a letter dated 18 January 1879 (found in ML II, 392). Jean Janson was the possessor of the Bavarian Order of St. Michael, second class.
